...Jesus Christ, the same, yesterday, today and forever!

For some years now, the Lord has been reminding me of a few stories from my past.  As they have aged, He's given me a perspective that comes from distance, and yet they are still as real as they were the day they happened.

The first experience i want to share is from my time ministering in a Christian food bank.

Part of our ministry was spent in prayer for the people, asking the Lord to supply their needs, to glorify Himself, to multiply the food, etc.

One day, i was sitting with someone in my office, when all of a sudden one of the helpers came running into the office, saying,
"it's amazing, you won't believe it!  It's just like the loaves and the fishes - the milk won't run out!  We keep filling up people's containers, and the milk just keeps on flowing!  You've got to come and see this!"
To back up a bit and explain, we'd been given two big plastic bags of milk, the kind that go into a milk dispenser in a cafeteria, with the long spout on the bottom.  They were each in a separate milk crate.

We'd decided to ask all those who were coming that day to bring in an empty carton or jar or whatever they could find that was clean enough to hold some milk, so that we could give them some fresh milk from those big milk bags.

What my friend was referring to was the fact that we'd had lots of people coming in, bringing their containers to be filled with milk, and there were far more containers than he knew should have been filled by the milk we had.

i ran into the front of the food bank, to watch a miracle in the making - as the people came in, the people who were dispersing the milk just kept on giving milk out until the last person came in with their container - there was even milk left over, that we had to put into a few empty containers, and into the fridge!

We praised God above, knowing that we'd been eye-witnesses to the Glory of God - Jesus was indeed the same, yesterday, today and forever, and the miracles that He performed in Bible times, He still does today, as we trust Him!

The people who witnessed this are mostly still alive today - God hand-picked those who needed to see this, to increase their faith, to prove that He is still faithful, and to prove to them that no matter what they'd done in the past, He was still with them, watching over them, providing their needs according to His riches in Glory!

The amazing thing about this story is that the man who was sitting on the couch in my office at the time when this miracle happened had been an eyewitness to his own miracle!

We had actually just been remembering how much God loves him, and how blessed he'd been to see God do what he'd done for him!  God's timings are so perfect!  God so totally wanted to set into this man the fact that what he'd seen was absolutely true that He allowed him to see another miracle!

Be encouraged - God is at work, and He still multiplies the loaves and the fishes!  And the milk, and the mustard, and whatever else He wants to, just to bless and encourage you!
